<p class="Help-Text">If you choose not to allow automatic download of updates (a <a href="../qbpos_workstation_preferences/wsprefs_autoupdate.htm">preference setting</a>), you can manually check for and download them at anytime using this procedure. You must have an active Internet connection for this procedure.</p>
<p class="Help-Info-Line">To manually check for and download an update:</p>
<ol>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Select <font class="hcp2">Update QBPOS</font> from the File menu.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Bulleted">
<p class="Help-Bulleted">On the Updates tab of the window displayed, select <font class="hcp2">Get Updates</font>.</p>
</li>
</ol>
<p class="Help-Indent">Point of Sale connects to the update site and checks for/downloads new updates. If you have multiple workstations, each must download or have access to the update file before continuing. <a href="help_updates_multipleworkstations.htm">Learn more</a>.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Once downloading is complete, select <font class="hcp2">Install Now</font> to immediately <a href="help_updates_installing.htm">install</a> the update on this workstation.</p>

<p class="Help-Text">If you do not immediately install a downloaded update, Point of Sale will prompt you to do so each time you exit the program.</p>

<p class="Help-Heading-2">About the Update Window</p>
<ul>
<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">
<p class="Help-Bulleted">The Updates column lists available and downloaded updates. Click an update name for a description of the update.</p>
</li>
<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">
<p class="Help-Bulleted">The Last Checked column displays the date and time you last checked for an update.</p>
</li>
<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">
<p class="Help-Bulleted">The Last Results column displays the status of your last check for updates. Click on the status for more information on the download.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">
<p class="Help-Bulleted">Select <font class="hcp2">Reset Updates</font> to clear the previously downloaded data and restart the update the next time you click <font class="hcp2">Get Updates</font>. Select this option if a download is interrupted or if you accidentally deleted an update file before installing it.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Click <font class="hcp2">Stop Updates</font> to immediately stop downloading an update.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Select the Update Preferences tab on this dialog to set your <a href="../qbpos_workstation_preferences/wsprefs_autoupdate.htm">update preferences</a>.</p>
