<p class="Help-Text">"Practice Point of Sale" is a separate program area that you can use to train yourself and your employees, and experiment with program features without affecting your real data. Practice mode also allows you to try the features at a level of Point of Sale other than what you have licensed. If you are Point of Sale Basic user, you can, for example, practice with the features at the Pro or Pro Multi-Store levels to see if they are what you need.</p>

<p class="Help-Text">While in practice mode, the following apply:</p>

||

<p class="Help-Bulleted">You cannot back up or restore the practice data</p>

||

||

<p class="Help-Bulleted">You cannot exchange data with Quick Books Financial Software or between stores (if using Pro Multi-Store)</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">You cannot obtain credit/debit card authorizations</p>

||

<p class="Help-Text">Note: Step 3 below applies only at the Server Workstation. Client workstations can only connect to the practice data currently selected by the Server Workstation.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Close all open Point of Sale windows on the workstation being used for practice.</p>
|

<p class="Help-Steps">Select <font class="hcp1">Practice QBPOS</font> from the File menu.</p>

<p class="Help-Nested-List">Choose <span class="hcp2">Continue to use previous practice data</span> if you want to keep working with the same data last used for practice (sample data or your own).</p>

<p class="Help-Nested-List">Choose <span class="hcp2">Use existing practice data</span> and browse to the location of a practice data file. You can select the "Als Sport Hut" sample practice file with this option.</p>

||

|
<p class="Help-Nested-List">Choose <span class="hcp2">Use a copy of my companys data</span> to practice with your own data. A copy of your company data is made, so your real data is not affected by practicing. The login names, passwords, and security settings defined in your company data apply while in practice mode.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select a practice level. Basic users have the option of practicing with Pro or Pro Multi-Store features, and Pro users can practice with Pro Multi-Store features</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select <font class="hcp1">OK</font> to create the practice data and enter practice mode.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Log in with your user name and password, if prompted.</p>
|
||

<p class="Help-Indent">While in practice mode, the words "Practice Mode" will flash in the title bar and the status bar will be displayed in a bright yellow color. Activities you carry out in practice do not affect your real company data.</p>
