<p class="Help-Text">A gift certificate is basically "store money" that can be used to purchase merchandise at a future date. When a customer buys a gift certificate, there is no net sale. Certificate numbers can be recorded both on the sale and the redemption for tracking purposes.</p>
|

<p class="Help-Info-Line">To sell a gift certificate:</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Start a new sales receipt with or without other items listed.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">In the <span class="hcp1">Scan or enter item information</span> field of the receipt, begin typing <span style="font-style: italic;">Gift Cert</span>... and then click <span class="hcp1">Gift Certificate</span> in the item list displayed. The Sell Gift Certificate dialog is opened.</p>
