<p class="Help-Text">The ability to edit or delete shipping information may be limited as follows:</p>
<ul class="hcp3">
<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">
<p class="Help-Bulleted"><span class="hcp4">Before a receipt has been saved</span>: No restrictions. The shipping information or shipping amount can be edited or deleted.</p>
</li>
<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">
<p class="Help-Bulleted"><span class="hcp4">After a receipt has been saved</span>: The shipping information, except amount, can be edited or removed. The amount cannot be removed because payment has already been taken with the shipping included.*</p>
</li>
<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">
<p class="Help-Bulleted"><span class="hcp4">In Shipping Manager:</span> If the shipment was made through Shipping Manager, the shipment or a specific parcel can be edited or deleted in Shipping Manager until the carrier has physically received the package, even if it can no longer be edited or deleted in Point of Sale. However, a change initiated in Shipping Manager does not update the receipt in Point of Sale.</p>

<p class="Help-Info-Line">To edit shipping information before saving the receipt:</p>
<ol class="hcp5">
<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">Click anywhere in the shipping information area on the receipt. The Enter Shipping Info dialog opens.</p>
</li>
<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">Edit the information and click <span class="hcp4">Save</span>.</p>
</li>
</ol>
<p class="Help-Info-Line">To delete the shipping information, including the amount, before saving:</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">&#160;Click the <span class="hcp4">Options</span> button in the shipping information area on the receipt.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">Click <span class="hcp4">Remove Shipping Info</span>.</p>
</li>
</ol>
<p class="Help-Text">The information and shipping charge is immediately removed.</p>
<p class="Help-Info-Line">To edit shipping information after saving the receipt:</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Find and open the receipt in sales history.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">From the I Want To menu, select <span class="hcp4">Add/Edit Shipping Information</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">In the Shipping Info section of the receipt, make a selection from the drop-down <span class="hcp4">Options</span> list:</p>
</li>
</ol>
<p class="Help-Indent" style="font-weight: bold;">Ship Items via Shipping Manager: <span class="hcp6">Available only if Shipping Manager is enabled. Launches Shipping Manager for shipping or tracking the shipment. If a tracking number is recorded on the receipt, this option will connect to the carrier's web site to track the progress of the package.</span></p>
<p class="Help-Indent" style="font-weight: bold;">Edit Shipping Info: <span class="hcp6">Allows you to change or remove the shipping address, shipping provider, ship date, and tracking number. You cannot however remove the shipping amount.</span></p>
<p class="Help-Indent" style="font-weight: bold;">Remove Shipping Info<span class="hcp6">: Removes all shipping information except the shipping amount.</span></p>
<p class="Help-Indent"><span class="hcp4">Print &#160;Mailing Label:</span> This option prints a <a href="../qbpos_basic_procedures/printing/basic_printing_shippinglabels.htm">shipping/mailing label</a> using the printer and template set up in Point of Sale.</p>
<p class="Help-Indent"><span class="hcp4">Print Packing Slip:</span> Prints a listing of items to be shipped and both the Bill To and Ship To addresses.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted"><span class="hcp4">*</span>The only way to remove or edit the shipping amount after a receipt has been saved is to <a href="../qbpos_recording_sales_and_returns/receipt1012.htm">reverse</a> the receipt and then create a new corrected one with the updated shipping information. If canceling the shipment, you may find it quicker to create a new receipt to refund the shipping amount to the customer.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Since they are just estimates, <a href="shipping_shipmgr_estimates.htm">shipping amounts and information on customer orders</a> can be edited or removed at anytime.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select <font class="hcp6">Ship</font> to complete the shipment and print a shipping label. A confirmation is displayed, which can be printed or copied. Select <span class="hcp4">OK</span> to return the shipping information to the sales receipt.</p>

<p class="Help-Text"><span class="hcp4">To edit or remove the shipping charges</span>: Click the Options button in shipping information area and select the appropriate action. If editing, the Enter Shipping Information dialog is re-opened. Edit as necessary and save.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">If selling customer order items on the receipt, any shipping information recorded on the <a href="shipping_shipmgr_estimates.htm">customer order</a> is carried to the sales receipt. If the order is only being partially filled (i.e. some items remain due), you are asked if you want to apply the shipping charge to the current receipt.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">
<p class="Help-Bulleted">Subject to <a href="../qbpos_secadmin/secadminoverview.htm">security rights</a> and these <a href="shipping_editordelete.htm">limitations</a>, you can edit the shipping amount recorded on the receipt; even if that amount was brought over from the Shipping Manager.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">If requiring user logins, the <a href="../qbpos_secadmin/secadminoverview.htm">security right</a> "POS &gt; Edit shipping amount", can be used to allow or prevent editing of the shipping amount on a receipt.</p>

<p class="Help-Text">To charge for shipping and/or handling, set up a service item in inventory called "Shipping Charges" or similar.</p>
<p class="Help-Text">If shipping charges are taxable in your area, assign the appropriate tax code to the item and optionally map the shipping charges to the appropriate QuickBooks financial software income account on the item record. You can enter your standard shipping charge as the item price or leave the price at zero (0) and edit it on a sale-by-sale basis as you create the sales receipts.</p>
<p class="Help-Text">When creating a receipt, list the shipping charge item on the receipt in the same manner as other items. Sales tax will be calculated and added for the shipping charge item, if applicable.</p>

If using Shipping Manager, you can retrieve an estimate of shipping charges from UPS and enter that estimate on the order.</p>
