<p class="Help-Text">The list summary, available for each Point of Sale list, displays basic statistics allowing you to quickly and easily obtain key information about your business without having to run a report. For example, while viewing your item list you can see at a glance your total number of items and the total on-hand quantity, cost, and price for those items.</p>
<p class="Help-Text">Other Point of Sale list summaries include statistics relevant to that particular area.</p>
<p class="Help-Info-Line">To view a list summary:</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Display the list for which you wish to view the summary.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Make sure the list <span class="hcp2">View</span> drop-down is set to show all records.</p>

<p class="Help-Indent">Filter the list to show only certain records. The statistics displayed reflect the currently set list filter.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Observe the list summary field in the status bar at the bottom of the window. In this example, the number of items in the item list (294) is the default statistic:</p>

<p class="Help-Nested-List">Hover your mouse over the displayed statistic to display a popup of the complete list summary.</p>

<p class="Help-Nested-List">Click the small down arrow on the status bar to change the default statistic displayed in the status bar.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Two <a href="../qbpos_secadmin/secadmin01.htm">security rights</a> can be used to limit an employee's ability to view list statistics. In the General area, the <span class="hcp2">View List Statistics</span> right can block all rights to this feature or the <span class="hcp2">View Cost Fields</span> right can block viewing of cost-related statistics only.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Statistics are updated when a list is refreshed (exit/re-enter, re-sort, re-filter, save, etc.). Statistics are not dynamically updated when making changes in <a href="basic_list_edit_mode.htm">list edit mode</a>.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">A Statistics report, with item and customer list information, is available to add to your <a href="../qbpos_reports_and_sales_charts/reports_dashboard.htm">Dashboard</a>.</p>

If using <a href="../qbpos_inventory/inven_uom_multiple.htm">multiple units of measure</a>, quantity information shown is for your base unit only.</p>
