<p class="Help-Text">The Add Counts by Hand window is an efficient way to manually transfer item counts from a <a href="pi551.htm">store count worksheet</a> to Point of Sale. There's no need to enter counts in any particular order and Point of Sale will combine the counts of an item if entered multiple times.</p>

<p class="Help-Info-Line">To enter item counts using the Add Counts by Hand window:</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">With the Physical Inventory window open, Select <span class="hcp1">A</span><font class="hcp2">dd Counts by Hand</font> from the I Want To menu.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select the preferred workflow sequence for item entry in <span class="hcp1">After pressing Enter key:</span></p>

<p class="Help-Nested-List">Select <font class="hcp2">Go to quantity field</font> to enter an item then enter the counted quantity, then another item, etc.</p>

<p class="Help-Nested-List">Select <font class="hcp2">Add item</font> to enter one item after another quickly, each with a quantity of one. The cursor never moves to the <span class="hcp1">Quantity</span> field with this choice. This might be a good choice if you are scanning each and every item unit to enter them.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Scan or enter an item <a href="../qbpos_basic_procedures/basic_item_identifiers.htm">identifier</a> (<font class="hcp2">UPC</font>, <font class="hcp2">Alternate Lookup</font>, or <font class="hcp2">Item #</font>) and press <font style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">&lt;Enter&gt;</font>. Audio and visual warnings are given if an unrecognizable identifier is entered.</p>

<p class="Help-Indent">The program will search items in the order shown above. The first match to the entry is listed, e.g., if you have an item with an Alternate Lookup that matches an Item #, an entry matching both will cause the item with the Alternate Lookup match to be listed.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">If you selected <span class="hcp1">Go to quantity field</span> in step 2, enter the counted quantity and press <span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">&lt;Enter&gt;</span> or click <span class="hcp1">Add</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you are finished entering all the items and their counts.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select <span class="hcp1">Save</span>. The counts entered are transferred to the Physical Inventory window.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">When all counts have been entered on the Physical Inventory window, <a href="pi560.htm">review</a> the counts and then proceed to <a href="pi556.htm">updating your inventory</a>.</p>
