When you import items from QuickBooks, they are all assigned to a single department named <font style="font-style: italic;">QuickBooks Financial Software</font>.</p>

<p class="Help-Text">If you want to track and report sales using departments that are more meaningful for your business, you should create new departments as needed and then <a href="../qbpos_inventory/inven404.htm">edit the imported items in inventory</a> to assign them to your new departments.</p>
