<p class="Help-Text">Many actions can be completed only by users with sufficient security rights to perform them. The Manager Override function provides an option for those times when it may be necessary for a manager to accomplish a sales task for which the current logged-in user does not have sufficient rights.</p>
|
|
<p class="Help-Text">When a sales task is attempted for which the current user does not have rights, the Manager Override alert is displayed, which allows a manger to temporarily sign in and complete the action. The manager login is good only for the current task, security immediately reverts to the previous user.</p>
|

<p class="Help-Steps">When the Manager Override dialog is displayed and you wish to override the limitation on the current user, sign in with your user name and password.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Security automatically reverts to the previous user.</p>

<p class="Help-Selection-Filename">Only certain point-of-sale tasks  trigger the Manager Override alert:</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Attempting to give a discount on a receipt without the right to do so</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Attempting to sell item with a zero price or changing the price</p>

|
<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Attempting to entering a negative quantity on a regular sales receipt</p>

|
|

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Attempting to accept a check when the customer record is flagged "Do not accept checks"</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Attempting to charge a new sale to a customer account when the charge would exceed the customer's account limit or a past due amount is indicated</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">The <a href="../qbpos_recording_sales_and_returns/receipt1028.htm">Cashier and Associate</a> fields retain the original entries; they do not change to reflect the override user.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Other windows opened while in Manager Override will have the elevated rights of the manager, but once the original task is completed these windows will be downgraded to the original user's rights or automatically closed if the original user has no rights to them.</p>
