<p class="Help-Text">Use this procedure to install and configure the Partner Tech CD7220 pole display for use with Point of Sale.</p>
<p class="Help-Text">It is strongly recommended that you use the Hardware Setup Wizard to configure your Point of Sale hardware. You can access the setup wizard from the File menu and from individual hardware workstation preferences pages.</p>
<p class="Help-Info-Line">To install the Pole Display to your Computer:</p>
<ol>

<p class="Help-Steps">Assemble the pole display (connect base, pole and display as depicted in the pole display documentation).</p>

<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">Make sure the Point of Sale installation disk is in your CD-ROM drive. (Cancel the Installation Wizard if it launches.)</p>

<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">Launch Point of Sale.</p>
</li>
<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">Select <span class="hcp1">Hardware Setup Wizard</span> from the File menu.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">Follow the on-screen instructions to connect and setup your pole display.</p>

<p class="Help-Text">If your computer does not have an available serial port, contact your computer vendor or local computer store to discuss options such as adding an additional serial port.</p>

<p class="Help-Info-Line">To review or change your preferences in Point of Sale:</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Start Point of Sale.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">From the File menu, select <span class="hcp1">P</span><font class="hcp2">references</font> <font face="Wingdings 3" class="hcp3"></font> <font class="hcp2">Workstation</font>.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">Select <span class="hcp1">E</span><font class="hcp2">quipment</font> <font face="Wingdings 3" class="hcp3"></font> <font class="hcp2">Customer pole display</font> on the left-side preferences list.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Complete settings for the pole display as described <a href="../qbpos_workstation_preferences/wsprefs_poledisplay.htm">here</a>.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select <font class="hcp2">Save</font>.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">If the pole display does not display information after this procedure, re-enter Workstation preferences and try a different port connection, e.g. if you initially selected <font class="hcp2">com 1</font>, change the setting to <font class="hcp2">com 2</font> and test again. Repeat this procedure until the pole display functions correctly (or use the Windows <a href="../qbpos_glossary_of_terms/glossarypage.htm#glossary_devicemanger">Device Manager</a> to determine the correct port to use).</p>

<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px; color: #292526;">
<p class="Help-Bulleted"><font color="#292526">If you have an internal modem, it may be assigned to one of your serial ports, causing a conflict if the pole display is plugged into the same port. If your pole display still does not work, try plugging the pole display into another serial port. Repeat the steps above until you have identified the right combination of physical port and serial port setting that results in the pole display working.</font></p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Due to frequent hardware changes, always follow the directions provided with the hardware if it differs from this procedure.</p>
