<p class="Help-Text">This shoe store example uses a name and a two -character code to identify each merchandise department.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted"><font class="hcp1">Department Name:</font> Use an easy to remember name that makes sense to you and your employees. This name is used when working with items, filters, and reports.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted"><font class="hcp1">Department Code</font>: An abbreviated format for your departments that is printed on price tags and in certain other areas where space is limited.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">You dont have to use the same number of characters for every department code. For example, the "Childrens Shoes" department above could have a code of C.</p>
