<p class="Help-Text">There may be times when you are working on one task in Point of Sale and you need to do another, but you aren't done with the first.</p>
<p class="Help-Text">For example:</p>

<p class="Help-Text">You're making a purchase order but need to check inventory.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p class="Help-Text">You're about to run a report in the Report Center when a customer walks up ready to be rung up.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p class="Help-Text">You can switch to another area to complete a second task and then switch back to the original task to complete it.</p>
<p class="Help-Note"><span class="hcp1">Note</span>: These instructions only apply to windows with the Switch To drop-down arrow. Most of the time, you can start another task simply by selecting it from the Home page or the main menu. When you want to return to the first task, click the Windows button at the top left of the Home page and select the appropriate window.</p>
<p class="Help-Info-Line">To switch between tasks:</p>

<p class="Help-Text">At the top left of your current window, select the <span class="hcp1">Switch To</span> <span>drop-down arrow.</span></p>

<p class="Help-Indent">A list of tasks in progress is displayed (<span class="hcp1">Make a Sale</span> is always displayed even if you don't have a receipt in progress).</p>

<p class="Help-Text">Select the task or document you wish to switch to.</p>

<p class="Help-Text">When done with the second task, use <span class="hcp1">Switch To</span> again to return to your original task.</p>

<p class="Help-Heading-2">Notes:</p>
<ul>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Only one task in a give area can be on the Switch To list at one time, for example, one receipt, one PO, and so on.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">It is a good practice to close tasks you are not actively working on. On transaction documents, you can put the document on <a href="../basic_holding_a_document.htm">Hold</a>. On other documents and records, you can save them at any time and return to them later to finish.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Some actions, such as editing and saving some company preferences, require that all areas be closed before the action can be completed.</p>
