<p class="Help-Text">In a networked, multi-workstation configuration, use this procedure to connect a Client Workstation to the Point of Sale company data on the Server Workstation. Your computers must be properly networked.</p>
<p class="Help-Info-Line">To connect a Client to the company data:</p>
<ol>

<p class="Help-Steps">Ensure that the Server Workstation is running.</p>
</li>
<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">Launch Point of Sale on the Client Workstation.</p>
</li>
<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">Point of Sale searches your network and locates the server installation of your company data.</p>

<p class="Help-Nested-List">If a single company data file is located, the Client is automatically connected to it. And the following steps do not apply.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Nested-List">
<p class="Help-Nested-List">If more than one Point of Sale company data file exists on the network, a window is displayed listing the names of the files. Continue with the following steps.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select the company data you wish to access and select <span class="hcp2">OK</span>.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Steps">
<p class="Help-Steps">If prompted, select a workstation number for this computer, and select <span class="hcp2">OK</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Indent">If you require employee <a href="../qbpos_secadmin/basic210.htm">logins</a> (previously set up), the Log In window is displayed. Use your user name and password to log in to the program.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Repeat this procedure for each Client Workstation.</p>

<p class="Help-Text">On subsequent launches of the Client Workstation, Point of Sale automatically reconnects to the same server/company data.</p>

<p class="Help-Note"><span class="hcp2">Note</span>: Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and wireless networks tend to be low bandwidth (slow) and therefore are not recommended for use with Point of Sale. These network configurations may be unreliable.</p>
