<p class="Help-Text">Data fields are populated from information in your company data file. This could be store information, customer information, item information, sales information, and so forth.</p>
|
|
<p class="Help-Text">A <font class="hcp1">data field</font> represents one piece of information from the record, such as the city for the billing address.</p>
|
|
<p class="Help-Text">A <font class="hcp1">group of fields</font> represents a set of data fields that are added to a template as a group. For example, a "Ship To" group would have available all individual fields pertinent to the shipping address. In most cases, the pre-defined groups should meet your needs. However, should you need a more specific design, you can add or remove individual data fields from a group.</p>

<p class="Help-Text">In most cases, you will not be able to place the same data field or group of fields in multiple locations on a template.</p>
|

<p class="Help-Info-Line">To add a data field or group of fields to a template:</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">If applicable, select the <a href="../qbpos_glossary_of_terms/glossarypage.htm#glossary_section">section</a> of the template to which you wish to add the date field or group.</p>

<p class="Help-Indent">If necessary, create more room in the section by dragging its lower separator bar downwards.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">From the tool bar, select <span class="hcp2">A</span><font class="hcp3">dd</font> <font style="font-family: 'Wingdings 3';" face="Wingdings 3"></font> <span class="hcp2">D</span><font class="hcp3">ata Field or Group of Fields</font> from the tool bar.</p>
