<p class="Help-Text">Shipping information and an estimate of the charges can be entered on a sales order or work order and then transferred to the sales receipt made when the order is filled. If using Shipping Manager, you can retrieve an estimate of shipping charges from UPS and enter that estimate on the order.</p>
|

<p class="Help-Text">The actual shipment is always done from a sales receipt.</p>
|
|
<p class="Help-Info-Line">To enter a shipping estimate on a customer order:</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Create the order, adding the items and customer.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select <span class="hcp7">Estimate Shipping for UPS</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select an existing customer shipping address or select <span class="hcp7">Add an Address</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Indent">A complete address and phone number is required to get an estimate. If you add or edit an address in this window, you can save the changes to the customer record.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select the <span class="hcp7">Shipping Method</span> (ground, 2nd day air, etc.) and enter the parcel <span class="hcp7">Weight</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Indent">Point of Sale connects to the Shipping Manager and retrieves and displays the estimate (Shipping Manager isn't opened).</p>

<p class="Help-Nested-List">To see how the shipping charges vary, change any of the information (method, weight, address) and select <span class="hcp7">Get Estimate</span> again.</p>

<p class="Help-Nested-List">Select <span class="hcp7">Go To Shipping Manager</span> if you need to access other options, such as checking transit times, changing settings, or check requirements for oversize packages.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Shipping information recorded on a customer order is carried to a sales receipt that <a href="../qbpos_customer_orders/custorder_filling.htm">fills the order</a>. If the sales order is only being partially filled (i.e. some items remain due), you can choose whether to transfer the shipping amount. Once on the receipt, you can edit or enter additional shipping information or charges as necessary.</p>
