<p class="Help-Text">Once your account is approved and you have received your Gift Card Account Number (typically in 2-3 business days), enter the account number in Point of Sale company preferences and specify how you will communicate with the service. Once you have received your cards, you will be ready to start processing gift card transactions.</p>
|

<p class="Help-Steps">From the File menu, select <font class="hcp2">Preferences</font> <font style="font-family: 'Wingdings 3'; font-weight: bold;" face="Wingdings 3"></font> <font class="hcp2">Company</font>, and then <font class="hcp2">Merchant & Gift Card Services</font> from the left-side preferences list.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Enter the account number provided to you in the Gift Card Service area on the page.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select <font class="hcp2">Communication Setup</font> from the left-side preferences list, and specify how you will <a href="../qbpos_merchant_service/cardservices_communication_setup.htm">communicate</a> with the service, either <span class="hcp3">Secure</span> <font class="hcp2">Internet Connection</font> or <font class="hcp2">Direct-dial</font> (modem). Click <font class="hcp2">Internet Connection Setup</font> if you need help configuring your Internet connection (this step is not necessary if you have already set up communication for the QuickBooks Desktop POS Merchant Service):</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Return to the <span class="hcp3">Merchant & Gift Services</span> page and select <span class="hcp3">Verify</span> next to your Gift Card Account Number. Point of Sale will do a test connection and confirm that your account is active and ready to use. If errors are encountered, a message is displayed with information about resolving the situation.</p>
