<p class="Help-Text">If you do not have an account with the QuickBooks POS Gift Card Service, you can still record gift card transactions in Point of Sale, using this procedure.</p>

<p class="Help-Info-Line">Sell a Gift Card</p>

|
<p class="Help-Steps">Start a new sales receipt with or without other items listed.</p>
|
|
</li>

|
<li class="p-Help-Steps">
|
|
<p class="Help-Steps">In the <span class="hcp1">Scan or enter item information</span> field of the receipt, begin typing <span style="font-style: italic;">Gift Card</span> and then select <span class="hcp1">Gift Card</span> from the list of items displayed.  The Sell Gift Card dialog is opened.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Enter the amount and the gift card number and click <span class="hcp1">Save</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">List the items being purchased on the receipt.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Click <span class="hcp1">Gift</span> as the payment type and then select <span class="hcp1">Gift Card</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Indent">Follow your service's instructions for verifying and using the balance available on the card.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Ensure <span class="hcp1">Redeem Card</span> is selected in the Gift Card dialog and edit the amount, if necessary, to reflect the gift card balance being used as payment.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Click <span class="hcp1">Save</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Point of Sale does not connect to your service to update card balances for the transaction.</p>
|

</li>
|
|
<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">
|
|
<p class="Help-Bulleted">Point of Sale does not track the balances of your gift cards.</p>
|
|
</li>
|
|
<li class="p-Help-Bulleted" style="margin-left: -20px;">
|
|
<p class="Help-Bulleted">You can view a list of your gift card transactions in the <font class="hcp3">Payments</font> <font face="Wingdings 3" class="hcp4"></font> <font class="hcp3">Payment Reconciliation</font> <font face="Wingdings 3" class="hcp4"></font> <font class="hcp3">Gift Card List</font> report.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">Cash Drawer reports (X/Z-Out) will reflect these transactions.</p>

<p class="Help-Bulleted">If integrated with QuickBooks Financial Software, the transactions will be sent to QuickBooks and be posted to the appropriate accounts.</p>
