<p class="Help-Text">If you engage the services of an advisor or accountant, you can easily send them a copy of your company data for review. Your advisor must have the same version and level of Point of Sale that you use to view your file.</p>
|
|
<p class="Help-Text">You should give your advisor a copy of your data, not your original company data file. You can continue to carry on normal activities in Point of Sale while your advisor is reviewing your data.</p>
|
|
<p class="Help-Text"><font style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">Security Note:</font> We strongly recommend that you require user logins if sharing your data with other parties. <a href="../qbpos_secadmin/secadmin02.htm">Add your advisor as an employee</a> and assign a user name and password for access. Typically, you would give your advisor full access rights (Owner or custom security group), but you can assign more limited rights if preferred.</p>

<p class="Help-Info-Line">To create a copy of your Point of Sale data for an advisor:</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">From the File menu, select <span class="hcp2">B</span><font class="hcp1">ack Up Data</font>.</p>

<li class="p-Help-Steps">
|
|
<p class="Help-Steps">In the Backup Data dialog, select <font class="hcp1">Backup to an alternate location</font> and then click <span class="hcp2">B</span><font class="hcp1">rowse</font>.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Give the backup file a unique name (leave the .qpb extension) and save it to a removable disk, CD, memory stick, or other media that you can provide to your advisor.</p>

<p class="Help-Info-Line">(Advisor) To access your clients data:</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">From the File menu, select <font class="hcp1">Company Operations</font>.</p>

|
<p class="Help-Steps">In the dialog displayed, select <span class="hcp2">Create new company</span> and click <span class="hcp2">Next</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Enter a unique name for the new company data, then click <span class="hcp2">OK</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Indent">The new data file is created and confirmed.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">In the dialog displayed, select <span class="hcp2">Restore from backup</span> and click <span class="hcp2">Next</span>.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select <span class="hcp2">Browse to a</span><font class="hcp1">lternate backup file</font> and then browse to locate the clients backup file on the provided media. Look for a file with the .qpb extension and then select <span class="hcp2">O</span><font class="hcp1">pen</font>.</p>

<p class="Help-Steps">Select <span class="hcp2">OK</span> to restore the clients data to the new data file created in Step 2. The clients data is opened on your computer.</p>

<p class="Help-Text">This procedure adds the clients data to your database server list. You can subsequently reopen this data by selecting <span class="hcp2">C</span><font class="hcp1">ompany Data</font> <font style="font-family: 'Wingdings 3'; font-weight: bold;" face="Wingdings 3"></font> <font class="hcp1">Open</font> from the File menu.</p>
